New Student Orientation

Join us Thursday, August 22, 2024

New Student Orientation is the official welcome and orientation to your academic program. Join us to learn important details about your first year of graduate school, meet your classmates and advisors, and learn how you can become an active member of the Marsal School community. Welcome to the world-class University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education! We are thrilled to welcome you to our school.


Here you will study with some of the world’s leading scholars and practitioners, while engaging in top-ranked academic programs. You will have wide-ranging opportunities to learn, reflect, and grow with the support of a robust network of peers and leaders in our school, the university, and beyond.

You will be part of a community working together to boldly transform educational systems through teaching, learning, and policy so that all learners can to thrive—in education and in society.

We do this by connecting research on teaching and learning with humans and real-world scenarios; by learning in, with, and from our communities in partnership with public schools; and by promoting and embodying diversity, inclusion, justice, and equity in all that we do.

Additional Information

Parking

The Marsal Family School of Education Building is located at 610 East University Avenue. Metered street parking around the building and throughout the University of Michigan campus is typically limited, but a parking structure with public access is available at the Forest Structure (650 S Forest Ave., $1.20 per hour). Some parking is available in the residential area directly south of campus, with a 4-hour limit. Students will be moving into residence halls on these days, so please allow extra time for parking on and near campus.
