Unpacking Dual Enrollment to Promote Education and Labor Market Success

This project, led by researchers at the University of Michigan’s Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER), uses quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to evaluate how Michigan’s Dual Enrollment (DE) system operates, for whom it works, and under what conditions it produces more equitable educational and labor-market outcomes.

Share

The evaluation examines:

(1) how DE is implemented across diverse local contexts and what mechanisms facilitate or constrain equitable access;

(2) the factors predicting eligibility, participation, and intensity of DE course-taking across student populations, districts, and regions; and,

(3) the causal effects of DE participation and participation intensity on high school achievement, postsecondary access and success, and labor market outcomes.
