In partnership with the greater Marygrove Community in Detroit, we are developing a comprehensive research program focused on Learning, Equity, and Problem Solving for the Public Good (LEAPS), a first-of-its kind undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education. Our research examines essential questions about the nature of learning, who holds knowledge, and how education can create meaningful outcomes for both students and communities. By exploring the co-design and pedagogical conditions in the LEAPS program, we aim to help students rethink traditional education and envision broader possibilities for social transformation.
