TeachingWorks

In this episode, we discuss TeachingWorks, an organization within the Marsal School that shines a bright light on the profession, preparation, and practice of teachers.

About this episode

In this episode of the Innovator Showcase, we take an inside look at TeachingWorks, a University of Michigan initiative that focuses on questions such as: What is instructional practice? What do practicing teachers need to learn to do? How can we support the day-to-day development of children, teachers, and family engagement within education systems? The TeachingWorks team shares their professional stories as educators, introducing us to high-leverage teaching practices and the complex, often invisible work of great instruction. We discuss the challenges and opportunities of building more equitable and effective educational systems, and explore how TeachingWorks has partnered with more than 50 teacher education programs across at least 20 states to support the improvement of instruction in local and broader organizational contexts.
