Making Change through Making Art 2024 will bring together Detroit artists and students in a series of art workshops that will both provide high-quality, culturally-responsive art instruction to students, and grow knowledge about how Visiting Artists can better promote student well-being and engagement.
Students will work with Detroit artists to create art that promotes social justice activism, expands modes of student expression, and builds ties with Detroit's cultural heritage. The workshops will culminate in an Exhibit and Community Conversation at the Marygrove Student Art Gallery.
