In this project, the team will test a personalized college application service for low-income students that is cost-effective and scalable.
The service, College Choice Artificial Intelligence (AI), includes personalized recommendation engines, an adaptive learning platform, and behavioral tools to overcome cognitive barriers. College Choice AI will be developed based on a current prototype, including recruiting a team of experts in economics, software engineering and machine learning, and product management. The team will deploy the College Choice AI using a website or application and test its effectiveness using a small sample of college applicants in 2024. In 2025, they will continue fine-tuning the College Choice AI and behavioral interventions and shift the focus to recruit a larger sample of college applicants that year. The team will also conduct impact evaluations and prepare science and business documents for the next steps.
