Brightmoor Career and College Access Network MCC College Positive Communities

The Brightmoor neighborhood in Northwest Detroit has many community assets ready for activation to address the challenges of educational access and attainment. The community has been organized for more than 20 years to address various community needs through a neighborhood coalition, and more recently community partners have complemented that by assessing educational access programming through the Brightmoor Career and College Access Network (BCCAN). BCCAN is an educational opportunity coalition of internal and external neighborhood stakeholders planning and implementing programs to address the deep educational needs and create opportunity for regional youth.
