Associate Professor Demetri Morgan is featured on a new episode of “AAUP Presents,” a podcast produced by the American Association of University Professors that focuses on issues related to academic freedom, shared governance, and higher education.

A special series titled Academic Freedom on the Line with the AAUP’s Center for the Defense of Academic Freedom (CDAF) explores university governing boards and their workings. Marsal School Associate Professor and CDAF Fellow Demetri Morgan joins the podcast to explain the differences between public and private boards, what an “advisory role” actually means, and how to create meaningful communication between board members and academic workers and community members. Morgan is in conversation with Raquel Rall, Associate Professor in the School of Education at UC Riverside, with whom he co-founded the Center for Strategic and Inclusive Governance. The center is designed to equip higher education boards and leaders with research-informed tools for mission-centered decision-making.
