The administrator certification will be integrated into the degree program with the two internships (each 15 weeks long) built into specific courses and sections for those completing the degree plus the certification. The internships will total at least 260 hours, divided among elementary, secondary, and central office settings. Fieldwork is mentored by certified administrators from both Marsal and your district, with regular online seminars connecting you to peers across Michigan and beyond.
Yes. Most students complete internship hours within their employing school/district. If you are not currently employed in a school, Marsal will assist students with arranging a suitable placement in your local area.
The program is anchored to Michigan’s certification requirements using nationally respected leadership standards (NELP). Most states have reciprocity with Michigan’s educator certification, including administrator requirements. Some states may require a separate state exam or other requirements. All candidates who intend to work outside of Michigan should contact their state education department to determine if the Michigan certification will transfer.
