Global Education Discussion Group (GEDG) Meeting: The Diversity Conversation That Universities Aren't Having
Remote
Events of the past year have brought issues of systemic racial inequality back into focus in the U.S. Disparities in access to education and healthcare, economic investment and opportunity, as well as treatment by police and the criminal justice system have returned to the national discourse with an urgency not experienced since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. But how do international students, whose experiences are not informed by the U.S. context, make sense of these issues? Who on campus helps them to navigate these racial conversations? Be part of this conversation on Feb 19.
Yuezhong Zheng (She, Her, Hers) currently works at the International Students and Scholars Center at Arizona State University, where she is also involved in the Inclusion Conversation working group within her office.
