Zhanar’s mission is to support doctoral students in the Joint Program in English and Education (JPEE) and the Combined Program in Education and Psychology (CPEP) as they pursue their academic, professional, and personal growth. She manages recruitment and admissions processes, coordinates student funding and advising, and designs engagement opportunities that foster a vibrant and inclusive scholarly community.
Before joining the Marsal Family School of Education, Zhanar managed college-wide cultural competence professional development initiatives and community engagement programs in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. She also held roles at Augusta University and Eastern Michigan University, where she earned her M.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies.
