Sarah supports students in undergraduate and graduate Educator Preparation Programs (EPP) who are pursuing two credentials: a bachelor or master degree from Marsal, and teacher certification through the State of Michigan. Her academic advising duties include coursework review and planning, registration guidance, and auditing for degree and certification completion. She works closely with colleagues on Marsal’s EPP leadership and Office of Recruitment and Admissions teams to advise both current and prospective students.

This work is incredibly rewarding to Sarah because of the vital role educators play in shaping the lives of young people. An equitable and justice-based education is crucial for providing the opportunities for growth, empowerment, self-fulfillment, and independence that all children deserve. Her contributions to helping Marsal students become teachers was recognized in 2020 when she received the Patricia A. Natalie Staff Award for Excellence.

Prior to joining Marsal in 2011, Sarah worked in student support positions in the Ross School of Business. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In her free time she enjoys reading historical fiction and doing jigsaw puzzles.
