Monica is responsible for developing online learning experiences; building strategic relationships; and supporting innovation for the EdHub for Community and Professional Learning and the Marsal Family School of Education. In this context, she expands and diversifies U-M’s globally-accessible educational opportunities for professionals, community advocates, families, and policymakers.
She leads partnership building and collaboration with faculty and other experts to design, market, and deliver community and professional learning with a focus on preK-12 educational communities. Monica also builds academic partnerships between the EdHub and external collaborators to fund equitable access to higher education experiences.
Prior to her role at the Marsal Family School of Education, Monica managed partnerships for the University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation where she consulted with instructional teams to develop new concepts for Michigan Online, and delivered custom learning for corporate and nonprofit partners. Monica also spent ten years in the field of marketing and communications prior to joining U-M.
Monica currently serves as chair of a local school advisory council, and is a member of UPCEA. She was recently a member of a public school district’s strategic framework review committee, where she developed recommendations to strengthen family, community and school partnerships to enhance academic and extracurricular experiences for all students. She is an active supporter of youth sports, appreciates time to read, and plans trips to visit Michigan lakes in the summer.
