Mike has found a true professional home advising prospective and current educators navigating alternative teacher certification through U-M’s M-ARC Program. In addition to advising, he collaborates with and supports the broader M-ARC team to advance the purpose, vision, and mission of the Marsal Family School of Education.
Mike also serves as a Seminar Instructor and Field Instructor for M-ARC. Supporting educators across Michigan requires deep skill, dedication, and empathy—a challenge Mike embraces with enthusiasm. Like many M-ARC participants, Mike came to this work as a second career. He brings 30 years of PK-12 experience, having served as a classroom teacher, building principal, curriculum director, and superintendent. This rich background allows him to seamlessly mentor and guide the next generation of teachers.
