Jenn Berks provides comprehensive administrative support to the Chair of the Educational Studies Program, helping keep departmental priorities organized and moving. She supports a wide range of chair-led initiatives, including the Ed Studies Colloquium, the Ed Studies Community Bookread, faculty recruitment, the weekly faculty newsletter, and the development and maintenance of tracking systems for program-level data.
Jenn joined the University of Michigan in 2015 and has held administrative roles in Pathology and the School of Dentistry. She earned her master’s degree in art education from Florida State University and her bachelor’s degree in visual arts from SUNY Geneseo. At the Marsal Family School of Education, she enjoys bringing together her administrative expertise, creative background, and deep appreciation for education.
A dedicated advocate for workplace wellness, Jenn serves as an MHealthy Champion on the Marsal MHealthy Wellness Committee. She can be found in her plant-filled office, where her love of gardening has fully taken root. She also enjoys baking, crafting, and gaming.
In 2026, Jenn received the Strong Work Ethic Staff Award and was nominated for the Pat Natalie Award for Staff Excellence, in recognition of her dedication, reliability, and positive impact on the Marsal community.
