Heidi Bennett manages and organizes activities, events, and projects for the Eileen Lappin Weiser Center for the Learning Sciences in collaboration with the Director and the Steering Committee. She collaborates with faculty, students, community partners, and stakeholders on advancing the mission of the Center, including assisting with scheduling, communications, project management, and strategic planning.
Heidi has a passion for education and commitment to equity and justice. She is thrilled to be part of the Eileen Lappin Weiser Center for the Learning Sciences’s mission to propel the innate capacity for human learning and to foster relationships that lead to wondering, understanding, becoming, and thriving.
Prior to her role at the Marsal Family School of Education, Heidi worked at U-M’s Institute for Research on Women and Gender, where she managed events, communications, and special projects, and served as the project coordinator and academic counselor for the NIH-funded Student Opportunities for AIDS/HIV Research (SOAR) program. She previously worked in arts administration and was a high school theatre teacher.
Heidi earned her M.A. in Higher Education from the Marsal Family School of Education at the University of Michigan (2021), and her B.S. in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University. She is a member of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
