VIDEO The Michigan Education Teaching School: A Model for Embedded Educator Preparation

In partnership with Detroit Public Schools (DPSCD), the Michigan Education Teaching School offers a new proof-of-concept model of teacher education and preparation for our newest teachers. Like a teaching hospital, they offer a place-based single-school educator preparation site, with a shared vision of project and place-based teaching focused on engineering and design for social justice. Together the Marsal Family School of Education faculty and veteran “attending teachers” from DPSCD support novice teachers from pre-service teaching through the first three years of teaching.
