Vanessa Louis shares the work of Detroit River Story Lab at the Detroit River Youth Career Expo
Dr. Vanessa Louis describes her work with youth and teachers to connect the Detroit River to academic lessons.
The Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority and U-M’s Detroit River Story Lab partnered to host a career expo for youth interested in education career pathways in maritime industries, environmental science, water resources management, and other related fields.
In a short video with highlights of the event, the Marsal School’s Dr. Vanessa Louis described her work with Detroit River Story Lab “working with high school students and now with college students and Detroit area school teachers to look at how we can connect the Detroit River and context for the lessons that they’re learning.”
