P–20 leaders discussed education in Detroit on NBC News Learn panels
Dean Elizabeth Moje and two other leaders of organizations collaborating on the P–20 partnership contributed to a set of panel interviews on NBC News. The live broadcast event explored education issues in Detroit. NBC News Learn Presents: Education Now Detroit took place on Thursday, October at The Henry Ford. The forum was moderated by NBC News Chief Education Correspondent Rehema Ellis with WDIV Local 4 Anchor Kimberly Gill.

The event consisted of four panel discussions with school leaders, administrators, experts, community leaders, and members of the live audience. Moje participated in the panel “Letting Teachers Lead,” which investigated declining enrollment in teacher education programs, teacher shortages, and the state of the profession.
Ann Kalass, CEO of Starfish Family Services, served on the “Addressing Student Trauma” panel and Nikolai Vitti, Superintendent of the Detroit Public Schools Community District, was on the panel titled “From Opportunity to Purpose.” Kalass and Vitti are leaders in the P–20 partnership.
