Mentor to SOE secondary teacher education interns, Bethany Vonck, honored as Regional Teacher of the Year

A mentor teacher in the SOE’s secondary teacher education programs, Bethany Vonck, has been named one of the top 10 teachers in the state by the Michigan Department of Education. Vonck is an English language arts teacher at Washtenaw International Middle Academy in the Washtenaw Educational Options Consortium.
The MDE’s annual program is designed to honor educators and give them a platform to share their experience and knowledge with stakeholders. Teachers are nominated for recognition by students, staff and community members, and then must undergo an application process.
