In December 2023, the EdHub for Community and Professional Learning will launch Transforming Education in an Interconnected World, a new open access, online learning series on Coursera. It will be available to learners everywhere, and free to all U-M alumni. Teachers certified in Michigan can also receive SCECH credit for taking the course.

Developed in collaboration with the Improvement Scholars Network, the goal of the Transforming Education series is to build a global community of change agents committed to advancing educational access, quality, and equity in their local contexts. The Transforming Education series will open on a schedule of one course per month and run continuously thereafter. Learners are welcome to join at their convenience, and may complete the course at a pace that works with their own schedule.

The series will commence with the Series Orientation which opens to learners on December 4, 2023. In January 2024, a Launch Experience will bring the Transforming Education series to life with a weekly newsletter, online office hours, special guest speakers, and opportunities to engage with faculty members. The Launch Experience will be supported by a team of University of Michigan graduate students who will participate as co-learners and as ambassadors in cultivating fellowship among the global Launch Cohort.
