Deborah Rivas-Drake named a 2025 American Educational Research Association Fellow
Rivas-Drake is one of 29 exemplary scholars honored this year by the association for their contributions to, and excellence in, education research.

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) has announced the 2025 cohort of AERA Fellows. Associate Dean and Stephanie J. Rowley Collegiate Professor of Education and Psychology Deborah Rivas-Drake is among the 29 scholars who have been nominated by their peers, selected by the AERA Fellows Committee, and approved by the AERA Council, the association’s elected governing body. The new cohort joins an existing body of AERA Fellows that totals 791.
“The 2025 AERA Fellows join a brilliant group of scholars, and they are most deserving of this honor,” says AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “Their significant contributions to the education research field demonstrate the highest standards of academic excellence and scholarship.”
Rivas-Drake will be inducted as a fellow during a ceremony at the 2025 AERA annual meeting in Denver, Colorado on April 24, 2025.
