Chris and Rebecca Quintana selected to be 2025 Quantitative Ethnography Fellows
The QE Fellows Institute is a longitudinal learning experience that provides sustained engagement with colleagues and QE experts over the course of one year.

Marsal School Associate Professor Chris Quintana and Clinical Assistant Professor Rebecca Quintana have been selected for the 2025 cohort of Quantitative Ethnography Fellows with the QE Fellows Institute. The fellowship begins with a week-long intensive training at University of Wisconsin, Madison followed by quarterly online events.
During the institute, the Quintanas will use quantitative ethnography methods to study how students and design professionals are taking up ideas within their MOOC series—Generative AI as a Learning Design Partner—and will be focusing on their use of emerging technologies such as GenAI to support learning design practice. For example, how, when, and where are students and design professionals open to exploring and experimenting with GenAI to support design practice? How, when, and where are they hesitant and reluctant to engage in GenAI-assisted design activities? Understanding overall learner sentiment in these areas will lay the groundwork for the development of new GenAI tools to support learning design practice.
