Associate Professor Jon Wargo and collaborators receive the AERA Technology Instruction Cognition and Learning Outstanding International Research Collaboration Award
Wargo and his colleagues are recognized for their work on the Coastal Climate Kids Project.
Marsal School Associate Professor Jon Wargo and his collaborators—Dr. Cassie Brownell (OISE - University of Toronto) and Dr. Kathleen Schenkel (San Diego State University)—will receive the AERA Technology Instruction Cognition and Learning (TICL) Outstanding International Research Collaboration Award at the 2026 American Educational Research Association (AERA) conference.
The award recognizes TICL members who are international research collaborators who make substantial scholarly contributions to the intersection of the four disciplines: Technology, Instruction, Cognition and Learning.
Wargo and his colleagues are recognized for the Coastal Climate Kids Project, their study with the Coastal Climate Kids Collective, which was designed to forward alternative ways to remotely conduct place-based science education inquiries with children.
The team will receive the award at the TICL Business Meeting at the 2026 AERA conference.
