PERIOD:
TO
The Sustainability Teacher Fellowship Program team, Darin Stockdill, Emily Gochis, Odera Igwe, and Nate Phipps from the Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER), has been awarded a Bay Area Community Foundation grant to support Bay County educator stipends and place-based learning experiences.

The Sustainability Teacher Fellowship program engages 800+ K-12 students throughout the Saginaw Bay Watershed in meaningful sustainability learning & projects each school year. This year, the program will focus on climate education. Students explore community-based issues and solutions that affect their communities and carry out transformative service projects to create lasting change within their communities. Teacher professional development occurs in the summer and school year through outdoor, classroom-based, and virtual experiences to improve educators' environmental and pedagogical knowledge and skills. Classroom support includes project design, mentorship, classroom mini-grants, and connection to a network of partners and resources. Evaluation will occur throughout the project to measure program effectiveness on teacher, student, and community outcomes.
