The Marsal School Green Team is excited to host a houseplant propagation workshop and meet-up. This event is open to all Marsal community members, including students, staff, and faculty!

Houseplant care & propagation chat - 12:30
Cuttings swap - 12:45 - 1:30

At this event, we’ll talk about how to take cuttings from existing houseplants and place them in water or soil to grow a new plant. We will also be swapping cuttings! If you have plants that are good candidates for taking leaf or stem cuttings, please bring some cuttings to share (see the below guides for directions). If you're looking to start or add to your indoor garden, please come and take some cuttings home.

What might I bring to the event?

The below items are all optional:

  • As few or as many cuttings as you'd like
    • to keep your cuttings moist, wrap a damp paper towel or dishcloth around your cuttings and seal it in a plastic bag
    • learn how to take cuttings: video guide | written guide
      • (you can also do a web search for "taking cuttings from [plant variety]" and see what's recommended)
  • Reused containers in which to take your cuttings home
    • small glass or plastic jars, bottles, or bud vases for cuttings in water
    • small plastic containers such as yogurt cups or store-bought cupcake containers for
      cuttings potted in soil
Please sign up if you plan to attend!
