CPEP Brown Bag: Nell Duke

Many education scholars bemoan the gap—or chasm—between educational research and practice. One strategy for addressing this gap is to integrate research findings into curriculum materials for educators—and to draw on the expertise of educators to make those materials practical and engaging. In this session, I will provide an overview of n in-progress project that aims to develop curriculum materials that are research-informed, standards-aligned, culturally responsive, and usable. The curriculum targets birth to age eight and all school domains. I will then invite attendees to suggest specific research findings that should be reflected in the materials.
