Rabia Gul Kirikcilar is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan’s Marsal Family School of Education. She contributes to the Validating Measures of Quality Instruction, Algebra Instruction at Community Colleges 2.0 (VMQI) project, focusing on dimensions of mathematical knowledge for teaching, the intersection of high-quality instruction with diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the link between instructional quality and teaching knowledge. Her work involves analyzing student data using a grounded theory approach, collaborating with researchers across multiple states (Arizona, Minnesota, and Oregon), overseeing graduate students in Michigan, and building connections with partner institutions.
Rabia holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Marmara University, where she specialized in EthnoSTEAM—a framework integrating cultural contexts into STEAM education. She has extensive experience in mathematics education, including K-12 teaching, university lecturing, and STEM program coordination. Her research interests focus on culturally responsive pedagogy, developing cultural values-themed mathematics lesson plans, TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge), and gamification in education.
