Patrice Torcivia Prusko, MBA, PhD

Director of Learning Design, Center for Academic Innovation, University of Michigan

Dr. Patrice Torcivia Prusko is the Director of Learning Design at the Center for Academic Innovation. In this role, Patrice is responsible for shaping learner-centered, research-driven, scalable and sustainable educational experiences, particularly with Michigan Online. This role focuses on the center's design strategy, and the implementation of innovative pedagogies and emergent and experiential technologies that bring faculty-driven learning experiences to life.

Prior to her work CAI, Dr. Prusko held key roles as a business and marketing instructor at State University of New York, Instructional Designer at Cornell University, Director of Learning Design, Technology, and Media at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Her work focuses on creating transformative learning experiences that integrate AI and emerging technologies while addressing the biases embedded in these tools, biases that disproportionately impact women, marginalized communities, and global perspectives.

Her governance work includes: Founding member of Women Applying AI, Past President of the Board of Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology; Past Chair of the University of Texas College of Information Leadership Board; Past Chair of the ACE Women’s Leadership Network Massachusetts Board; Founding Member of the 100-Year EdTech Project; and Harvesting Academic Innovation for Learners Steering Committee.
