Nicole holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan and a combined Master’s in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Southern Mississippi. Previously, Nicole completed a BA in literature and Gender and Women's studies from Knox College. Nicole has redirected her focus toward a path that combines her strengths and allows her to pursue her love for helping people one-on-one. In this way, social work combines her unique skills and interests in conducting therapy Nicole sees treatment, interventions, and modalities of therapy as being stronger and more effective when intertwined with a keen understanding of social justice issues that marginalized populations face.
Prior to this, she completed an internship at Jewish Family Services and most recently worked as an Adjunct Counselor at UM CAPS in the Central office. Her aim is to blend her degrees, provide art-informed therapy, work with a diverse student population, and utilize therapy that accounts for social, personal, and political issues like capitalism, racism, sexism, gender identity and sexuality.
