Faculty Participation

We encourage Marsal School faculty members to attend graduation. It is a joyous culmination of our students' educational experience here, and it means a great deal for students to see their faculty at graduation.

Additional Information for Faculty

Doctoral Hooding

Faculty attendance and participation is vitally important to our commencement ceremony. We ask that faculty who are dissertation advisors for graduating doctoral candidates participate in the hooding of their candidates. Our on-stage doctoral hooding is an exciting tradition and a beautiful part of commencement.

Non-Essential Items

We ask that faculty members do not bring valuables to the event. Faculty members may leave coats and small incidentals in the robing area during the ceremony, but should be aware that this room is not locked. Non-essential items cannot be taken onto the stage, so please do not bring them to the ceremony.

Reception

All faculty members and community guests are invited to attend the Marsal Family School of Education reception immediately following the ceremony under the tent on Ingalls Mall.

Photographer

Our event photographer will roam briefly through the faculty robing room during robing. We encourage faculty to speak with the photographer if there are special photos they'd like to take with other faculty, the dean, or the speaker.
