Shruti Naik found that the connections she made between her coursework and her internship experiences were the most impactful aspect of her CSHPE degree.
Working at a university before starting graduate school helped Shruti Naik decide to study higher education, but she hadn’t decided where to enroll until learning that Michigan offered a foundational and theoretical background to the work she had already been doing in admissions.
Through her internship experiences, she was able to explore multiple facets to being a higher education practitioner. She was especially interested in working across a breadth of areas, so she interned in U-M Student Life’s Center for Campus Involvement, Rackham Graduate School, and the Colleges of Pharmacy and Engineering.
In addition to an academically rigorous curriculum, Naik found the connections she made between her coursework and her internship experiences to be the most impactful aspect of her CSHPE degree. To prospective students, she advises, “You really get out of the program what you put into it.”
