U-M ranked among top education schools in 2023
The University of Michigan School of Education is ranked as the #3 public education school and the #8 education school overall in the 2023 U.S. News and World Report graduate school rankings.
The latest U.S. News and World Report rankings also reveal that the SOE is ranked #2 in the country according to the organization's survey of peer universities.
In addition to this honor, for another year, all SOE programs that are considered specialty programs by U.S. News and World Report received high rankings. The Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education continues to be recognized with the #1 ranking among higher education programs.
The SOE rankings in seven specialty areas are:

- #3 Secondary Education
- #4 Curriculum & Instruction
- #7 Education Policy
- #11 Educational Administration
The SOE was recently highly ranked by two international ranking organizations. ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects ranks the SOE #4 in the world among education programs. And the QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks the SOE #17 in the world.
