TeachingWorks video selected as Shorty Award Finalist
Teaching is Powerful, a collaborative animated video project between the communications team at TeachingWorks, the communications team at The McKnight Foundation, and Pinch Me Productions, has been selected as a finalist for the annual Shorty Social Good Awards in the animation and education categories.

Teaching is Powerful is an animated video narrated by TeachingWorks Director Deborah Loewenberg Ball that vividly illustrates how subtle acts of teaching can perpetuate patterns of racism and oppression or, alternatively, contribute to a more just and equitable public education system. TeachingWorks communications coordinator and educational leadership & policy master's student Alyssa Brandon and former Digital Content Strategist Antoinette Wade were each producers on the project.
The Shorty Awards recognize excellence in the professional digital and social media community across the globe. The Social Good Awards focus specifically on highlighting digital and social media campaigns aimed at improving sustainability, diversity, and community and civic engagement around the world. Winners and honorees are selected by members of the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences, a diverse group of leading professionals in the internet, advertising, media, and entertainment industries.
Winners will be announced on November 19th. In the meantime, you can view the submission for Teaching is Powerful here.
