Chauncey Monte-Sano receives the 2021-2022 NCSS Exemplary Research Award
The Exemplary Research Award recognizes scholarship with the potential to significantly impact and/or transform social studies education research and practice.

Professor of Education Chauncey Monte-Sano has been awarded the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) 2021-2022 Exemplary Research Award.
NCSS’s mission is to engage and support educators in strengthening and advocating social studies, where social studies is defined as the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence. In support of this mission, NCSS and the Research Committee sponsor three annual research awards designed to recognize substantive scholarly inquiry in social studies education, including the Exemplary Research Award for which Monte-Sano has been recognized.
