Charles H.F. Davis III and Rona Carter named Institute for the Humanities 2025 Fellows
Davis will join the summer 2025 fellowship cohort; Carter will join the 2025-2026 faculty fellowship cohort.

Assistant Professor Charles H.F. Davis III and Associate Professor Rona Carter have both received fellowships from the U-M Institute for the Humanities, reports the University Record.
The Institute for the Humanities supports work that examines humanities traditions broadly across space and time; strengthens connections among the humanities, the arts, and disciplines across the university; and brings the humanities to public life. Each year the institute provides fellowships for U-M faculty, graduate students and visiting scholars who work on scholarly and artistic projects. It also offers a public humanities internship program and a wide array of public and scholarly events, including lectures, workshops and discussions.
As a Summer 2025 Fellow, Davis will work on his project titled “Imagined Futures of Black Faculty.” Carter will pursue her project, “Empowering Black Girls Through Digital Narratives: Exploring the Social Implications of Off-Time Pubertal Development” during her 2025-2026 Faculty Fellowship.
