The authors share experience and insights for how to create an evaluation teaching center.
In a new blog post for The American Evaluation Association, Cathy Hearn, Vicki Bigelow, and Nate Phipps of CEDER share their model for creating a supportive, authentic learning environment for new and emerging evaluators. A version of their article was first presented at the 2022 American Evaluation Association conference.
The core of CEDER’s evaluation teaching model consists of a two-semester internship program, as well as a “constellation” of other opportunities to support student learning and success to achieve the following goals:
- Achieve professional goals
- Develop technical skills
- Access mentorship
- Build community
- Understand work assignments
