Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework that assists educators in design curriculum for all types of human learners. No two students learn in the exact same way, and with UDL, the playing field is leveled for both to be successful.  Take for instance a student who has a hearing disability. By providing closed captioning for this one student, an educator might be also benefiting a student who learns better by reading.  The Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) has developed a brief video that describes UDL further. The CAST website is a great source of information for educators wanting to know more about UDL. As the dije office continues to integrate new methods of advancing diversity, inclusion, justice and equity within the Marsal Family School of Education, the dije office will rely on a UDL framework to advance our mission.
