Dean's Welcome

I am delighted you are considering joining the Marsal Family School of Education community. We are eager to introduce you to your prospective colleagues, including an accomplished student body, a world-renowned faculty, and an energetic and supportive staff.


As a School of Education with over 100 years of history within an excellent public research university, we can offer you unique and plentiful opportunities to develop both as a scholar and as an individual. Wherever your interests lie, we look forward to helping you explore them deeply, even as we challenge you to broaden your horizons. If you join our community, then you will have the support of leading research centers, access to generous funding and fellowships, individualized mentoring, and a progressive curriculum centered on equity and justice that will develop your capacity to serve as a powerful force of change in education.

Travel & Lodging

  • Up to $300 in travel reimbursement is available for those traveling at least 150 miles, and up to $700 is available for those traveling at least 500 miles to join us for visit day. Please complete the reimbursement request form and save travel receipts if you plan to submit for reimbursement, as we will need copies.
  • If you’re driving to campus, the parking structure closest to the Marsal School with visitor parking is the city of Ann Arbor’s Forest Avenue Parking Garage.
  • Ann Arbor has lots of great hotel options in a variety of price ranges.
  • Flying in? We recommend flying into the Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and taking the Michigan Flyer bus from the airport to downtown Ann Arbor. Uber and lyft are also available out of the DTW airport.
