Eligibility

Create a better and more peaceful world. The International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end, the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB offers high-quality international education programmes to one million students in more than 150 countries, with 93 programmes in Michigan:

  • 36 DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
  • 34 MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAMMES
  • 23 PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMMES

The U-M Marsal Family School of Education is professionalizing the next generation of teachers through immersive, practice-based approaches informed by research. The infusion of IB teaching and learning principles will further empower us to prepare teachers with knowledge and practices for their classrooms, and will support our diversity, inclusion, justice, and equity initiatives within Secondary Teacher Education.

Format


The certificate program is a series of three online modules paired with some required in-person meetings. It is completed by students enrolled in the teacher education program. The cost of the program is $300.
