The Crain’s Notable Women series includes Notable Women in Health Care, Finance, Technology, STEM, Nonprofits, and several other categories. Across Michigan, these women navigate company restructurings, argue high-stakes legal cases and find efficiencies in manufacturing processes. They also mentor, teach, and volunteer in their communities. The women profiled in this series are nominated by their peers at work and in the community.

Crain’s celebrated Moje’s career accomplishments by stating that the University of Michigan promoted Elizabeth Birr Moje in 2016 because of her groundbreaking educational research, her role in launching the Center for Education Design, Evaluation and Research, and her ability to develop significant partnerships. “Her community engagement and her research are focused on connecting individuals, schools and communities so that all are strengthened and better able to support young learners. … Elizabeth is contributing to the redefinition of public education for the 21st century,” said Martin Philbert, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs.
