Trey Boynton (AM ’98), Senior Director, Inclusion & Collaboration Strategy & Inclusive Solutions at Cisco, has been named to Diversity Women's Class of 2022 Elite 100 list of Black women leaders

Boynton began her career at the University of Michigan, where, over 18 years of service, she took on roles of increasing responsibility and leadership in student affairs. In 1998 she earned a master’s degree from the SOE’s Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education, and ultimately went on to serve as Director of the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA), which promotes student development and empowers the campus community around issues of diversity and social justice through the lens of race and ethnicity.

In 2017 Boynton pivoted from higher education to tech, where she continues to deliver on inclusion promises at scale. Now a global lead for Cisco, Boynton says her diversity and inclusion efforts are “head and heart work” centered on creating workplaces where employees and teams are valued, celebrated, and able to define their own success. Boynton tells Diversity Women her ultimate goal is to “reduce barriers to brilliance.”
