Christopher works with faculty and staff to recruit foundation funding for research, public scholarship, and special projects and programs across the School of Education while nurturing strong partnerships between the University and key foundation funders.
Christopher also assists with efforts to communicate the scope and significance of SOE faculty research to a broad foundation-related audience by managing production of the Michigan Education Research Matters newsletter and writing articles for Michigan Education magazine. He serves as a staff support member on the Dean’s Advisory Committee’s Innovative Academic and Research Programming Sub-Committee, and is involved in supporting programs at The School at Marygrove and The Detroit School of Arts.
With more than 25 years of programmatic and development experience in the education and arts sectors—including working with organizations such as Merit School of Music, Goodman Theatre, River North Chicago Dance Company, and consulting with arts-focused nonprofit organizations around the country—Christopher is excited to have the opportunity to support the ground-breaking educational research happening at the SOE and serve as a member of U-M’s world-class development team.
On rare occasions, Christopher can be seen in local theater productions (when not working in his garden).
