Alison Diefenderfer

Instructional Designer, EdHub

As an instructional designer within the EdHub collaboration, Alison Diefenderfer facilitates workshops and consultations on topics related to curriculum and learning experience design, particularly as those translate across instructional modalities.

Prior to CEDER, Alison worked as an instructional technologist at a liberal arts college, with responsibilities inclusive of learning management system administration. Alison also taught online and on-ground undergraduate courses primarily in community college environments, where she helped develop curriculum and taught courses across several academic disciplines. Alison also has some K-12 educational experience via informal learning workshops, dual enrollment, and community education courses for high school students.

Alison’s educational background includes a M.S.Ed. in Education, Culture, and Society from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, a M.S. in interdisciplinary social science from Florida State University, and a B.A. (anthropology) from Lehigh University. Alison is active in several professional organizations, including the American Educational Research Association and also the American Anthropological Association, where Alison has served in officer capacities with both the Council on Anthropology and Education and the Society for Anthropology in Community Colleges.

In addition to enjoying conversations related to education and technology, Alison counts music concerts and college sporting events, reading, travel, and photography among her hobbies and interests.
