Research & Wisdom:  Applying and succeeding in the global market—A recent Education Research graduate's experience at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.

About the event
International students who graduate from U.S. institutions and domestic students interested in working outside the U.S. navigate additional complexities when gaining work experience and considering employment options.  Dr. Pablo Fraser will offer strategies from his own experience navigating his post graduate opportunities.  He will also share his recent research on OECD's Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS).  TALIS is the first international self-reported survey that provides a voice to teachers and school principals, who complete questionnaires about issues such as their professional development, teaching beliefs and practices, assessment of their work and the feedback and recognition they receive, and various other school leadership, management and workplace issues.

About the speaker
Pablo Fraser is an educational policy analyst for the TALIS (Teaching and Learning International Survey) project at the OECD. His research interests consist of the exploration, identification and description of current global trends in the development of quality educational policies. He has been involved in comparative and international research concerning teachers' professional development, teaching practices, and teachers' well-being. Pablo has a PhD with a dual mention in Theory and Educational Policy and in International and Comparative Politics in Education from Pennsylvania State University.
